Casa blanca have ya heard the news?!

I've got the jet lag blues!
Well...mostly I'm just pooped, and trying not to fall asleep!!
I left for Thailand on August 16th (my 20th bday), leaving from Spokane to SFO, to Tokyo, to Bangkok, to Phichit! After over a full day's worth of travelling, we arrived at our cute home at 5:30 AM (August 18th), unpacked for a while. Fell asleep at 7. 10 AM got up, went and checked out the school, had some breakfast. At noon, had lunch, trained a little, and now I'm so ready to SLEEP! But, I will hold out until 9!!
Anyways, mostly I wanted to share this lovely song!!

Well,
sweet dreams wherever you may find yourself!!

Finally!

It's beginning to feel like summer.
Not the weather.
my life.
This last weekend was so SUMMERFUL!
I got to see my dear friends Jenna and Kolby.
We went paddle boating, picnicing, late night canal dipping (in FREEZING water), trampoline sleeping (staying up all nighting), and enjoying each others companying.
I got to go cliff jumping with old and new friends, at an old place where I discovered new secret waterfalls and sandpits!
I got to see the cutest baby girl!
I got to order take out chinese with my dear friend!
I got to see a friend get married, and then hang out with my awesome co-workers!
I got to have a lovely tie dye fest at the farm complete with good family, good food, and hula hooping.
And I only had to work one day!
It was just great to relax while in Moses. Usually if I'm home, I'm working.
But this weekend I got to be home and enjoy my beautiful surroundings, it was so refreshing!
Now onto Hornings Hideout with the fam!
PS I am really loving this guys playlists! I don't know him, but I like his taste!
PPS I'm also obsessed with Mason jars...fun fact!

Not only do I love squeaky cheese...

. . .I also love French braids! Even if they're falling out, and especially if they're in Mexico! :)

7/10/11

mexico.

it was a freaking blast.
i am searching for inspiriation to find an adequate word to describe it.
maybe it's too late en la noche. maybe my vocabulary is too sheltered. maybe it was a thrill a [mili]second, and there truly are no words to describe it.
and maybe i accomplished some life goals there.
and maybe i'm dying to go back, and travel all over the world.
and maybe i just will! :)
Have a fabulous day!
I love you all!

XOXO

Fact or crap??

Fact: In order for me to accomplish things, I generally need to set myself some goals, or I'll waste away my time researching on the computer, and watching chick fillets!
Fact: I hate failure
Crap: I fail a lot--ok you caught me, that's crap that that's crap...in other words two negatives equal a positive...in other words, that is indeed fact.
Fact: I'm obsessed with this and all live music
(the first minute and a halfish is talking...you're allowed to skip it!)
Crap: I have no goals for myself
Fact: I would like to one day become a sailor, a scuba diver, a hiker, a mountain biker, a cook, a triathaloner, a runner, a yogi, a rock climber and many more things!
Fact: I'm trying to do some of those things.
Crap: I'm already doing all of those things
Crap: I'm super prof at all of them...eek!
Fact: I'm going to Thailand in the fall
Fact: I'm going to MEXICO in June with my bff Lil' J
Fact: I'm super stoked
Fact: I fail at blogging
Fact: I told you I fail a alot
Fact: This is getting to be mostly facts, where's the crap!?
Crap: I'm going to become an awesome blogger
Fact: I just gave you crap

Do you ever

put on some great tunes.
and close your eyes.
and get lost in the music?
i do.
do you ever dream of sexy men with sexy hair moving to moses lake for a sexy summer.
i do.

I guess I'll let the cat out of the bag...

actually, let's rephrase that, because I don't really like cats.
I guess I'll let the seagull out of the blanket...
I'M GOING TO THAILAND!
And I'm ubber excited!
I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to go to a completely foreign place, and teach children to speak English! I cannot even believe that this is going to happen...it's pretty surreal!!
So, basically I'll be leaving sometime in August, moving to THAILAND for fourish months, teaching children to speak English, and having the experience of my lifetime, and
will be eating amazing food!
I know next to nothing about this country I will be living in, and am trying to slowly (alright) fastly learn as much as I possibly can!
If you have an secret intel for a tourist like me, please inform me!!

ME

How fickle my heart and how wousy my eyes.

I just can't seem to get over Mumford and Sons.
(as my roommies can attest to)
I'm in love.
yet again.
also.
i cut my hair. shhhh (i'm quite fond of it)
i accidentally stopped at a tent sale and spent way too much money at a boutique.
(then walked home with a HUGE garbage bag stuffed with my goods, and Isabell (razor scooter), and nearly died in an intersection...good thing I have cat like reflexes. and the tragedy was averted)

it's sunny out.
naturally, i ate a free hot dog by the pool.
and got a new tan line after only 10 minutes.

i fell off my bike
and broke it.
good thing one of my summer goals is to become a bike expert (and yes that includes mechanic).

I may have figured out a major.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

have a happy sunny weekend.

I'd really love to

blow all my hard earned cash,
on things that would bring me some needed class.
i'd play accordions, ukuleles, banjos, and drums;
while drinking from glasses filled with [fake] rum.
i'd run around, sinking my toes in the sand,
creating my own little band.
of one
plus some.

love hannah b

These are my confessions

I think hairy chests are sexy.
to a certain degree.
it has to be the perfect degree of hairiness...not too much, but not too little. none>too little or too much.
if you know what I mean.

Sufjan reminded me of this because of this song.

Truth.

Yesterday, I was going to try to be creative and write a poem or something cool like that.
but then i failed.
But, here are two truths for you.
1. I like ducks.
I used to hate them, because they have tried to kill me.
TWICE.
But, then last year, I saw them fall in love, and now I love them.
And I keep seeing them again!!
:)
2. I like ted.
especially this video.
(I don't know how to embed it.)
Go watch it.
It's great.

and a lie
I'm 6 feet tall
;)

Here's to finding the positive within a crazy world!

XOXO

let's be friends.

ok?
ok!

Last week, a teacher told a story of two little preschoolers she teaches.
They told her how they became best friends.
This is how it went down.
One day, one of them asked the other if he wanted to be his friend, to which
he excitedly replied, "you bet your bottom dollar I do!" [yes that came out of a 4 year old's mouth]
Ever since then, they've been best friends.
For three whole weeks.

Today, I was sucking dirt off the floor (with a vacuum thank you) in a computer lab, listening to some fleet foxes, where one man was working. When I turned the obnoxious vacuum off, the man began speaking to me. So, I removed my ear phones from the wholes in my ears, and began conversing with him. He asked me a few questions about the building, then began to ask about me. Where I was from, what I was studying, how long I've been attending BYU
, etc... Of course I answered, and asked him a few questions as wel
l. Turns out he's from some far away country, of which the name has escaped my brain, studying engineering, and missing his family and friends very much.

The point of these two stories you may or may not be wondering.

Friendship. (as you may have guessed by the title of this blog post)

It's the greatest thing ever.

But really, so many times, I have great opprotunities to make new friends, and yet I do no
t even think about it. I worry about myself, and my life, and pass up the chance to meet new people, find out their stories, and learn from them. As He is We once said, "we all have a story to tell."

I once made a goal. Everytime I met a person, even if I would probably never see them again, I would learn at least one thing from them. Every one is different, "like a snowflake distinct among snowflakes. Unique in each way you can see."

Anywho, I have kind of failed at my goal, but occasionally I remember, and
try extra hard to actually get to know the people around me. To love them. To learn from them. To hear their story.

People are fascinating.
and wonderful.
and great.
Look for the best in everyone, and I'm sure you will not be let down!

:)

Love,
Hannah b

This. is. rad.

Imagine how cool it would be if everyone tried so hard, simply to return a canister of lost film to complete strangers.
Imagine if everyone treated others how they would like to be treated.
Imagine if everyone invited complete strangers to stay with them, and baked them cakes.
Imagine how great that would be.

Cheers to loving!

PS HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY
I'm not Irish, but you can sure kiss me!

so i think i'm in love. . .

. . . with this boy.
he is awesome.
he has nice hair.
he probably has chest hair.
he's musical.
he skates.
he sometimes wears those sexy glasses that make me melt.
he has great style.
the only problem is that he's married.
what is up with all these men being married/engaged that i'm in love with?
note: by all these men i mean matt costa and jason mraz (see my obsession with this great man here, here, and here).
but seriously, how could anyone not be in love with him after watching this video?

I will be this intense of a yogi.
But for now, I guess I'll stick with poses like these.
And then maybe one day, Granny Hanny will be this awesome.

senses

I have five of them.
six if you count my weird ability to remember names/faces.

Today I SMELT fresh, cool, morning air, cycling through my body.
Today I SAW pretty colors, the beautiful mountains, and the view from the beautiful mountains.
Today I HEARD birds singing their pretty songs.
Today I FELT the warmth of the sunshine soak into my pale, white skin.
Today I TASTED...well nothing exciting there sorry!!
Today I LOVE nature!!
Pictured above are some of my favorite places in nature that I've been to. Including: Mount Rainier; Seaside, Oregon; Mount Timp; Moses Lake, WA; The Potomac River

I have developed a habit of drinking

water when I'm nervous.
Maybe it's the long term effects from when I used to be immersed in water for 10 years.
Maybe it's because I forget my bottle de aqua everyday, and it's an excuse to not sit.
Maybe I'm just dehydrated.

I love YOU!

Yes YOU!
I love Valentines Day!
I love today!
Just because you are not in love per se, does not mean you cannot love everyone!
That's my philosophy.
Here's why I love today!!
:)
The weather.
Holy it is only February yet it feels like April and I love it!!!
The weather being so nice that I feel justified in buying an ice cream cone for lunch and partaking of it while basking in the sunshine.
Laying in the sunshine. . .pretending to accomplish homework.
MY FAVORITE SPOT ON CAMPUS BEING REOPENED, where I can enjoy the sunshine, and yell compliments to people!
Handing out Valentines to people I do not know.
Receiving Valentines cards from my second graders.
When one of my second graders realizes that I'm leaving for the day, and he yells my name, and I don't hear, so he runs for miles (at least that's what it seems to him), and is huffing and puffing for breath, all to give me a goodbye hug!!!
Coloring valentines cards for my roommates.
Did I mention the great weather???
Well, there's a few reasons!!!!
Hope your's has been great.
XOXO
PS The above picture is a view from my favorite location on campus!! And just to clarify, that is not me in the pic!! :)
